<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">On October 13, 1961, Norman married the former Virginia Phillips in Hillsgrove, PA, they have celebrated nearly 49 years of marriage. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Civil Engineer for PennDOT.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">From 1964-1994, he played softball throughout the area. He played in the AA Pennsylvania Major Softball League and the Williamsport City League. His team played and defeated King &amp; Court twice.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">He was a former member of the Mildred American Legion Post No. 452.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He was a member of Evergreen Lodge No. 163, F.&amp;A.M., and was a Past Master and served as Chaplain for many years, and was a member of Williamsport Consistory.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He was a County Commissioner from 1996-2000; He was an EMT, and a member of the Mildred Fire &amp; Ambulance Company, White Ash Association, and was a Deputy Sheriff. He was also a Cherry Township Emergency Coordinator, and also served on the Sullivan County Planning Commission, and the Northern Tier Transportation Authority Advisory Board.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">He is survived by his wife: Virginia Miller, at home; by three children: Molli<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>(Bill) Kinsey, of Dushore, PA, <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>N. James (Nancy) Miller, of Millville, PA, Michele (Luke) Burkhardt, of Franklin, PA; by sister and brothers: Nesta Myers, of Forksville, PA, Henry Miller, of Dillsburg, PA, Larry Miller, of Carlisle, PA; by four grandchildren: Ethan and Ryan Kinsey, and Andrea and Aaron Burkhardt.; and by special friend Millie Dessify.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>

</span><span style="font-size: 14pt; mso-ansi-language: EN;" lang="EN"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Robert is a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church; Wyalusing American Legion Post No. 534; Towanda Gun Club; a Legion Board Member; former Wyalusing Fire Chief; he served 8 years on the Wyalusing Boro Council; was a member of the Wyalusing Rainbow Club; and the Wyalusing Little League. Bob loved his community and history.<br />

(Patty) Burns, of FL; by his six grandchildren: Lorissa and Laci Holdren, Joel, Gabrielle and Madelyn Edsell, and Derek Frederick; and by several nieces and nephews.</span></span></div>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt; mso-ansi-language: EN;" lang="EN"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: John Burns.</p>
<p>Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, September 2, 2010, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA.</p>
<p>A Mass will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Monarchuck, as celebrant.</p>
<p>Pallbearers: Frank Holdren, Jeff Edsell, Matt Kennedy, Joel Edsell, Malcolm Wech, Chip Welles, and Derek Frederick. Honorary pallbearers: Wayne Felter, Sr. and Ray Huffman.</p>
<p>Interment will be in Wyalusing Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by Wyalusing American Legion Post No. 534.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Glenn was a farmer and worked for Sylvania.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He later was employed by Procter and Gamble in Mehoopany in Waste and Water Treatment, retiring in 1988.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">His organizations included: Meals on Wheels, the Wyalusing Area Senior Citizens, and the Towanda Area Senior Citizens.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">He is survived by his wife Winola Stethers and son Richard Stethers, at home; by his daughter and her fiancée: Donna Barbuto and Robert Jones, of Springfield, PA; by three grandsons: Joseph and Tony Barbuto, and Justin Brown; by 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and several cousins.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He was born on February 4, 1925, in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Julius A. and Mary Jane (Hopper) <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span>.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He is a graduate of Easton High School in Maryland, and is a veteran of the United States Marines, and served during World War II.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Mr. <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span> has been a resident of this area since 1949, having moved from Northeast Maryland.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Prior to his retirement, he was engaged in dairy farming.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Overton.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He enjoyed fishing and hunting.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He was skilled in carpentry, and he and his wife enjoyed working with <span class="SpellE">Trehab</span> for many years, helping repair and maintain properties for over 12 years until 2001.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He leaves surviving his children: George B. (<span class="SpellE">Gana</span> “<span class="SpellE">Prama</span>”) <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span>, of Dushore, Mike A. (Signe) <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span>, of Andover, MN, Jon A. (Patricia) <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span>, of Dushore; two brothers: Harvey E. <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span>, of Northeast MD, Donald <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span>, of Tomball, TX; and by 6 grandchildren, 8 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce S. <span class="SpellE">Renshaw</span> on December 18, 2001; a daughter: Susanne; a grandson: Timothy, and by a sister: Laura Jones, of West Palm Beach, FL.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Wendell was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, on November 15, 1922, a son of Wm. Ridley Wilson and Fannie (Carr) Wilson.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Wendy traveled to Connecticut where he worked for the American Sumatra Company.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Along came World War II; he volunteered to become a member of the U.S. Navy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Wendell was a member of the crew of LOIK 489 which sailed across the Atlantic for training.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>In June 1944, they participated in the Normandy Invasion at Omaha Beach.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>On the first trip, they put 500 men of the First Division (Big Red One) on the beach.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Upon discharge, Wendy stayed in the Reserves and in time, was recalled to serve during the Korean War.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">On July 12, 1947, he married Ellen Leavenworth.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Wendy and Ellen shared a loving and devoted marriage; next week they would have observed their 63<sup>rd</sup> wedding anniversary.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">In 1947, Wendy began working for the Postal Department; in 1954 he was given a transfer to the Rummerfield Post Office.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>After some time, this post office was closed and the area served became part of the Wyalusing Post Office where he worked until his retirement in 1979.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Wendell was a member of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He became active in a number of activities that involved the youth of the area; coached Little League, flag football, accompanied the local Boy Scout troop at a Summer Camp and Polar Bear outings, and was a Counselor of the Explorer Troop.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">For twenty-one years he was a member of the Wyalusing School Board, and a 50 year member of the American Legion, Free and Accepted Masons, Order of the Eastern Star (served as Worthy Grand Patron), and a 40 year member of Scottish Rite. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">In his younger years he was a member of the Wyalusing Volunteer Fire Department and the Ambulance Association.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Wendy is survived by his wife, Ellen M. Wilson, at home; three sons: Gary (Gail) Wilson of Erie, PA, Bruce (Cindy) Wilson, of Millerstown, PA, and Brian (Tracey) Wilson of Mechanicsburg, PA; a sister: Virginia, of Georgia; a brother: <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Ralph, of Florida, and by two granddaughters: Emily and Sydney.</span></span></p>
