Alva C. “Bucky” Wood, 67, of Sugar Run, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010, at the Bradford County Manor.

He was born on December 20, 1942, in Honesdale, PA, a son of the late Alva G. and Alice Stegner Wood.

Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory, in Mildred, giving 26 years of service.

Bucky enjoyed his time spent bowling, playing horseshoes, and visiting with his many friends.

He leaves surviving his brothers and sister-in-laws: Roger and Mary Wood, of Sugar Run, PA; David and Connie Wood, of Laceyville, PA; an uncle and aunt: Clyde and Augusta Stegner, of Honesdale, PA; by two nieces and three nephews: Lisa Sands, Kelly Jo Penney, Roger Wood, Jr., David Sands and Joshua Wood.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, July 1, 2010,  from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the McHenry Funeral Home, with Charles Bishop, officiating.

Interment will follow in Wyalusing Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Bradford-Sullivan County Unit, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701, in memory of Alva “Bucky” Wood.
